So, I left to go to Starbucks on Saturday, which is only about 2 minutes bike ride from my place. But I realized that I might as well bike through the park and go to the Tully's cafe which is about 5 or 6 minutes away. Imagine my surprise when the Tully's was PACKED OUT. Well, I always wanted to explore more of the suburb by bike, instead of taking the subway all the time. Long story short, about half an hour later, and I finally wound up in a place that was recognizeable. There's a REASON that Tokyo taxi drivers must have a GPS system on their dashboard-- it's almost impossible to navigate around here. The Japanese history teacher in my office has said the rumor is that the original Edo city layout was intentionally confusing, in order to better repel potential invaders. What about the citizens? Too bad for you!
