It:s been a while, hasn't it? Man, it:s so dusty around here that my apostrophes are turning to colons. Werid, isn:t it? Actually it:s because that, among the other various adventurs I:ve had since (checking on the last update-- whoa!) November (!?), I have a new MacBook Pro laptop, but it has a Japanese keyboard. Someone decided that you don:t use an apostrophe that much in written Japanese, or SOMETHING, and decided to move it to the very inconvenient location at shift-7. I:ll try to rectify this in the future.
In the meantime, I think I:ll try to update this blog thing.
And since I:m beginning again, why not start at the very beginning-- with the basics? This video, "Japan - The Strange Country," was created by a Japanese design student Kenichi Tanaka. It exploded onto the scene after being selected by Yahoo! Japan to be featured on their page and was later translated into English. Thanks to the YouTube, you can see it here:
If there seems to be some political messages in there too, it was intentional. Tanaka is very open about it being a bit propaganda-y. As he mentions on his site, however, it:s not meant to be a guilt trip--just something to make you consider your place in the world and whether or not to "dig a little deeper."
I:ll try to update a bit more regularly, perhaps every other day. Be seeing you soon!
