(I was going to say "Racist" but maybe Culturally Biased is a bit less inflammatory.)
I:ve been playing the Family Feud application on Facebook, which actually may make it *not* culturally biased because I:ve tried to play other "copyrighted" type of games only to have them blocked because I:m overseas. But then I got this question:
Name an animal that lives in the sea that people refuse to eat? (Note: exact wording may be off because my memory isn:t *that* great.)
Of the "top seven answers on the board," ONLY ONE of them is NOT something consumed in Japan. What are they you ask?
Now, I thought the one never consumed by a Japanese person would be Jellyfish, but I would be wrong. Turns out, it:s common enough. They salt and pickle the jellyfish, or くらげ (kurage), like Chinese cucumbers. And I:m not saying that eating whale and dolphin is the norm, but again, it:s common enough to make it unsurprising.
So, yeah. I didn:t do well on that Family Feud round... I couldn:t think like an American quick enough!
