After long last, I've seen IRON MAN. Whew. That took a while! It never came out to Japan until late September anyway (by that time it was available on DVD in the States) and I never managed to get away to see it-- despite my best efforts to rally my friends. Thanks to the wonders of iTunes rentals, however, I downloaded and watched the thing on my new 37-inch flat screen hi-def TV. (Oh yeah, did I mention that new purchase?)
I gotta say, I thoroughly enjoyed that.
One thing about being in a country where movies come late and are prohibitively expensive when they do, it's easy to avoid spoilers if you're careful. So I got to watch the thing relatively unaware of where it was going, and it was pleasant, goofy fun. And it reminds me of a pretty steady constant truth about myself--
I love superhero stories.
