Is it that time already? No, not just the "Best Marvel Cover of the Month" time. Well, I mean, yes it is THAT time already, but I meant ... look at the calendar! It's December! Time is just so... relentless, you know?
Anyway, a quick perusal of Marvel covers for this month lead me quickly to this little gem, Avengers Academy #7, cover by Mike McKone:
Sure, it's just a dramatic pose of a heroic figure, but hey, there's some good covers like that! Case in point, the cover just "screams" classic comic book storytelling. Instantly, I'm reminded of the great Avengers covers of the past... like this one, #63 by Gene Colan:
So, it's just fun and celebrates fun times. Of course it gets the "best" award!
