A bit of Wonderland theme for our team-up today (but the Tinkerer is the closest I could get to a "carpenter.")
I envision the Tinkerer using the Walrus as a perennial test subject, which actually mirrors the Walrus' origin actually (his uncle was the epitome of "wanting to force your kid into greatness," despite the villainy.) It all starts when the Tinkerer has to resort to some innovative ways to market himself-- hey, the economy is bad all over, and he needs an edge! But of course a hero would have to come along and ruin everything, wouldn't he?
Hey, if current Spider-Man titles seem to be getting on the dark side of things, then perhaps a little levity is in store-- and who better than the Walrus? One of the only times he got Spidey on the ropes was when the web-head couldn't hold in his laughter when confronted by the guy! And who could pass up the opportunity for titles such as "This Man… This WALRUS!"
